Then
Shana was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. In her youth she moved to the Umatilla Indian Reservation where she attended and graduated from Pendleton High School with honors. While in high school Shana received honors on the basketball court as well. After high school graduation Shana attended Mount Hood community college and later Blue Mountain Community College before transferring to Portland State University where she graduated and received her B.S. degree.
Now
Shana is currently living in Pendleton, Oregon where she is working for the Umatilla Tribe and is concurrently actively involved with Red Lodge Transition Services (Portland, OR) a grassroots non-profit whose vision is to reduce recidivism of re-incarceration among Native Americans and to prevent the incarceration of future generations. Shana future plans include entering law school in the fall of 2012.
